Some communications support looks impressive on paper but struggles in practice. Strategy without delivery. Seniority without hands-on experience. Advice without accountability.
Ubiquitous was built to be different.
About Matt Tucker
I joined Avanade when it had just passed 10,000 employees. By the time I left, it had grown to 60,000.
That sustained period of rapid, global growth shaped everything about how I approach communications. Not as a theorist observing from the outside, but as someone embedded in the decisions, the pressure and the complexity as they happened, helping the organisation communicate clearly, credibly and consistently while the ground was constantly shifting beneath it.
During that time I led communications across internal, external, executive and crisis disciplines, often simultaneously. That meant redefining how the business told its story externally, building a social media strategy around outcome data rather than post volume, and managing a global PR agency network with real commercial accountability.
It also meant getting creative when the situation demanded it. Transforming routine CEO updates into engaging news and magazine-style programmes. Developing a gamified app to support a major change programme. Completely rethinking editorial strategy to make internal communications genuinely worth reading. And guiding the organisation through industry analyst processes to achieve recognised leadership positioning.
Throughout, I worked directly with the CEO and C-suite, not as a supplier presenting in a meeting room, but as a trusted communications partner embedded in the decisions that mattered.
Earlier in my career at Accenture, I worked across internal communications for business units employing 180,000 people, helping employees understand complex reorganisations, and developing the editorial style and technical capability of the company's primary news channels.
Both roles came through direct approaches from people I'd worked with before, something I've always valued more than any job title.
What those experiences taught me is that the best communications work is strategic enough to influence leadership thinking, pragmatic enough to work within real constraints, and measurable enough to demonstrate genuine impact.
That's what Ubiquitous brings.
How I work
I work with leadership teams on an embedded basis, as a fractional or interim communications director, or as a trusted senior advisor during periods of change, transformation or stakeholder pressure. Engagements are shaped around what you actually need, not a fixed service menu.
If you're scaling fast, navigating transformation, or simply need an experienced communications hand at the tiller, I'd love to talk.
If you'd like to have a chat about how I could help, get in touch.
